An Important Update on a Recent Roblox API Change
We're writing to share some important, albeit unfortunate, news regarding a recent change by Roblox that directly impacts the /snipe
command. We believe in being fully transparent with our community, and we want you to understand what has changed and why.
What Happened?
As of February 25, 2025, Roblox officially disabled the ability to view full player lists in servers through their public API. The API now only returns a maximum of 5 players per server, effectively removing the 'old server lists' that many tools, including Bloxiana, relied on for accurate player location.
This platform-wide change affects all tools and extensions that offer server-hopping or sniping features, as seen here:
How This Affects Sniping
What does this mean for Bloxiana's /snipe
command? Because we can only see a small, random sample of players in a server, there is now a significant chance that the user you're trying to snipe won't appear in that 5-player list, even if you are 100% confident they are in the game. This can lead to the command returning a false "no match found" message.
Here is a visual example of the new 5-player limit in action:
The Future of Bloxiana
The /snipe
command will remain active. It still works, but we want our users to be aware that its accuracy is unfortunately reduced due to this platform-wide change by Roblox.
While this is a setback, our vision for Bloxiana has always been bigger. We have been focusing on evolving Bloxiana into a comprehensive utility bot rather than just a 'snipe bot'. We have many more powerful features planned that are completely unaffected by this change, and we encourage you to check our updates channel for all the latest additions.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we navigate these platform changes and continue to build the best Roblox utility bot on Discord.
